Who pays Vivian Krause's bills? Vancouver Courier writer Allen Garr asked in a post today.
Pointing to Krause's attacks on the millions coming from U.S. Foundations ($300 million in a 10-year period) to Canadian environmental groups that oppose the tar sands as part of their work, Garr speculates about how Krause herself has financed her work.
He ends with a quote from Krause saying she received a loan from her father and "was able to afford to work unpaid because of child support" from her former husband.
Krause has continuously portrayed herself as a lone crusader motivated by a desire to reveal wrongdoings such as the "demarketing of Alberta".... "in the guise of environmentalism". Or, as she puts it, "Demarketing Canada's Friendly Oil Funded by American Foundations."
All of this has made Krause an active spokesperson for Ethical Oil, even if she's not drawing a paycheck. This morning, she was on the Bill Good show with West Coast Environmental Law. Yesterday, she was on the Rob Breaknridge show on QR77 radio in Calgary. And in a twitter post today, Krause writes,"Good news. Mayor Robertson agreed to allow me to meet with him. Thank you @MayorGregor!"
Who knows what tomorrow will bring for the nation's most passionate independent self-funded protector of that beleagured Canadian industry: big oil?
