O' Christmas Tree: Top 5 Places in Vancouver to Buy A Christmas Tree
For those just dying to have that Christmas tree smell brighten your room, and for those like me, planning Christmas since summer, here are the top 5 places to get your fresh cuts:
#1 Qualitree:
My #1----just because of that extra effort made to make it a family event. For those who like order and a menu of trees to choose from, their Christmas-like ambiance is sure to set the tone for your living room décor. Don’t forget to bring your kids along because with free hot dogs, hot cider and farm animals to pet, they’ll even help you load the tree. Speak to Mara or Hamish about what’s right for you. If you wish, you can help donate to the Food Bank here.
Seventeen acres of space, this family business has firs and spruce in their collection. A family affair waiting at this location, you will be able to get good tips from the owner Richard Davies himself. Just mention the Vancouver Observer and he’ll knock off 2 dollars from the tree that you pick. Sixty percent of the people choose to cut their own, and saws and hot chocolate are provided. He’ll be able to explain to you the best type of tree for you and how to make it just that extra bit special!
#3: TREK outdoor and Environmental Education Program:
Near Arbutus and West King Edward, support a “greener Christmas.” You’ll be able to find trees starting from $14-$150 at the Prince of Wales Secondary School. Help the TREK Grade 10 students sell their Christmas trees to you and delivery to senior citizens is FREE!!
#4 Vancouver South Lions at the John Oliver High School:
All proceeds go to the Lions Club International charities. Support your local community and go home with a great tree. This tree lot is something you don’t want to miss out on.
#5: David Hunter Garden Centers:
With two locations, spend more time picking out your tree than sitting on the road. The “cut tree” selection includes most of the firs and of course don’t miss out on the poinsettias that they carry.
As early as November 25th, until those last minute tree buyers, prepare and plan out which tree you have in mind now before heading on over.
