Alzheimer’s care training program for North Shore and Metro Vancouver families

According to new Census data, 500,000 Canadians have Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia. Those numbers are expected to more than double by 2038. As the population ages, the prevalence of Alzheimer’s will increase. 

 Families of Alzheimer’s patients now have access to a new resource to help them cope with the challenges that accompany this disease.

 The public is invited to attend a free Alzheimer’s CARE family training workshop.  Developed by Home Instead Senior Care with a team of Alzheimer’s experts in North America, the Alzheimer’s CARE Program incorporates a patient-centred approach to help families deal with the behavioral changes associated with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

 Those who are unable to make it to the family education sessions can access free online training modules that are part of the Alzheimer’s CARE program, available at: www.helpforalzheimersfamilies.com.
