MEC Bikefest Vancouver

Mountain Equipment Co-op is proud to present our 4th annual MEC Bikefest. This year’s festivities will be taking place on Saturday, June 23 at the Athlete’s Village Plaza on False Creek from 10:00am – 3:00pm.

MEC Bikefest is an urban celebration of bikes and cycling culture in the heart of Vancouver. MEC Bikefest is a family-friendly festival geared towards everyone from first-time riders to avid enthusiasts. Admission to MEC Bikefest is free of charge with optional paid clinics available.

Last year, over 3000 people attended MEC Bikefest and we are expecting attendance to grow for this year’s festival. Attendees will have the opportunity to take part in the numerous clinics and activities being offered by local vendors and MEC alike. Events include a stunt show performed by The Flow Riders, bike demos, children’s activities, “how-to” workshops, MEC Bike Swap and MEC Marketplace.

Registration for clinics begins on June 7 and costs $5 per person. Clinic participants receive a Camino chocolate bar as well as entry into a draw to win a Bikefest prize pack.

Mountain Equipment Co-op has been calling Vancouver home since our founding in 1971. While many members of the MEC are active in cycling, it has only been during the past few years that MEC has had the privilege of offering full-service bike shops to our over 3 million members.
