Local Hotel Channel Wins Innovative Business of the Year
RTOWN Communications Inc. (RTOWN) is proud to announce that it was awarded the Innovative Business of the Year at the inaugural Whistler Excellence Awards on July 6, 2012. The top three finalists in the Innovation category delivered inspiring presentations and the audience of business leaders and dignitaries in attendance voted RTOWN the recipient of the award.
Born in Whistler, RTOWN has been leading the digital media industry in resort and urban areas across Canada for over 10 years, providing a powerful communication network catered towards resident and tourism traffic.
RTOWN is now the largest of its kind in the country – currently broadcasting into more than 45,000 hotel rooms and 570 digital signs across Canada, in popular areas such as Whistler, Mont Tremblant, Thompson Okanagan, Tofino, and most recently the Vancouver Hotel Network. Providing insider information on local dining, entertainment, activities, weather reports, lift status and news, both the RTOWN TV and Digital Signage Networks reach a large, captive audience and engage them with unique digital advertising and community information, when needed most.
“RTOWN has evolved significantly in the avenue of messaging.” Explained CEO Don McQuaid, “With a goal of giving advertising clients and location partners more customizable features, RTOWN first implemented technology in 2008 that gives clients the ability to deliver their own specific messages within their property or location. Now this same technology lets our advertisers directly update their events, specials and featured items in real-time across our entire network using a simple login. We have seen tremendous results and adoption rates and for this reason, amongst many, RTOWN humbly accepts the innovation award.”
