Connect the Doc: Innovative new company looks to improve patient/practitioner relationship

An innovative new company that launched late last year, is making it easier for patients and practitioners to connect.  Connect The Doc is an online platform dedicated to simplifying the process of finding and scheduling medical appointments.  The platform is an easy to use online resource where patients can compare availabilities of different healthcare professionals and book/manage their appointments directly online.

“Connect The Doc was created because we saw there was a gaping hole between patient and doctor needs.  The platform makes it easier for patients to find appointments near them at the times they need while at the same time providing clinics with new patient acquisitions and increased patient retention,” says Connect the Doc co-founder, Nasheel Kassam.  “The technology to provide medical treatment has improved, so why not improve the technology for customer service and patient management as well?”

Since launching in November of 2011, Connect The Doc has added service providers in the fields of Physiotherapy, Acupuncture, Massage Therapy, Chiropractic and most recently Dental.  “It’s our goal to provide a service that allows patients to find whatever healthcare services they are searching for in a user friendly manner, “ Says Kasaam.  “Before Connect The Doc, it was difficult for patients to connect with healthcare professionals outside, and even during, business hours.  Our platform provides patients the opportunity to book their appointments from the office or in their own home, at their own convenience.”

Recently making an appearance at the annual Pacific Dental Conference hosted at the Vancouver Convention Center, Connect The Doc reached an audience of over 12,000 dental professionals.  “The Dental industry is certainly one that fits the model of Connect The Doc.  Patients need a place where they can  book emergency or last minute appointments and Dental clinics will certainly benefit from filling up gaps in their schedule that would otherwise be wasted opportunities.”
