Jones Lake area, near Hope, BC.

Jones Lake is located in easy to access area of Lower Mainland between Vancouver and Hope.Exit no. 151 takes directly to Forest Service Road gravel covered that runs some 10 km up to the lake. Always it's better access when using 4x4 but road is not bad for every car. Caution must be taken all the time when driving up.The interesting thing about the lake is that it has regulated level of water; in winter there's less water than in summertime. As a result of it, when coming at this time of the year, one can come across huge stomps sticking out over the lake's surface that were hidden in summertime. This creates weird landscape, completely like not from this earth.
The lake serves as recreational area equipped with picnic spots for camping and fishing and is a source of hydroelectric power. Here's a photo story from the trip to Jones Lake.
