Hiking Mt. Laughington, near Chilliwack, BC

Mount Laughington (elev. 1,770m) is one of the very last outposts in the North Cascade Mountain range that starts in North California and ends up here in British Columbia, Canada. Until some point the logging road is accessible by 4x4 vehicles and the next part of the trail leading directly to the peak has to be done on foot. First part of the trail leads through bushes and hiking is like in a tunnel of greenery.

After some 1 km of hike in the tunnel there's a sharp curve and another part of a trail (1.5km) leading directly to the peak. Looking east over the valley of Airplane Creek, there are: Mt. Cheam (2,107m), Knight Peak (2,235m), Baby Munday (2,190m) and Welch Peak (2,357m).

At the end of September the area is blooming with first colours of autumn that displays its real beauty when the weather is fine.
