At 6Pack Beach, kids build sand castles year round

Kidz Beach Lil Diggers Sand Play Drop-in for Kids

At 6Pack Beach, the Lower Mainland’s first indoor beach facility, kids and adults can get healthy playing sports in the sand year round. 6Pack Beach boasts 5 indoor sand courts in a heated facility home to beach volleyball leagues and tournaments, corporate events, birthday and team wrap up parties and a guaranteed rain-free playdate in the sand for parents of toddlers and young children.

Kidz Beach for Lil’ Diggers is a drop-in program for parents and kids in the warmest, driest sandbox in town. Playing in the sand is not only fun for kids, it’s healthy and packs lots of educational and developmental benefits too.

Sand play is a great tactile experience for kids. Whether just letting sand fall through their fingers or building elaborate constructions, kids can stay absorbed for hours.

The sand At 6PackBeach is cleaned thoroughly every day, so no glass, bottle caps or dog poo to worry about. Far from any electronic devices or screens, little junior will get a total mind/body workout playing in the sand while you relax, hang out with the grown ups or catch up with work or email (free wifi).

Playing in the sand is not only fun, it’s great for just about every aspect of your child’s development. Letting sand filter through her fingers or patting, sifting, measuring and smoothing develops her fine motor skills.

Shovelling, building, tunnelling or just walking or running in the sand develops gross motor skills. Pouring and packing sand into buckets develops kids’ understanding of volume, depth, weight and measurement. And playing with other kids in an unstructured way builds creativity, cooperation, communication and friendship!

Once sand play is over, there are showers to make sure the sand stays at 6Pack Beach instead of following you home in your car, your kids' shoes and winding up in your bed.

And speaking of bed, the biggest benefit for parents of a sand play date at 6Pack Beach is that your little sand prince or princess will be completely knackered by the end-- long sleeps guaranteed!
