Donate a bag of food to Covenant House and get your old mattress picked-up for free by MattressRecycling.ca

Today, December 11, Fabio Scaldaferri is offering a free, eco-friendly solution that also gives back to Vancouver’s at-risk youth with the Heaping or Humble Food Drive. His company, MattressRecycling.ca, is offering free mattress, box spring and futon collection for Metro Vancouver residents who are willing to donate a bag of non-perishable food items to Covenant House Vancouver.

Covenant House provides food, shelter, clothing and counseling to the estimated 500-1,000 Vancouver street youth who have fled physical, emotional and/or sexual abuse, have been forced from their homes or have been aged out of foster care.

“We will waive their residential pick-up fee ($50 + HST) or warehouse drop-off fee ($12.50) on used mattresses in exchange for a heaping or humble bag of food at the time of collection,” says Scaldaferri, who is hoping to deliver truckloads of food to Covenant House.

“If you don’t have a mattress but still want to help, call us and we will pick up your non-perishable food donation from your home this Sunday,” says Scaldaferri.

Mattresses must be ready for collection at the front door and certain conditions apply. Arrange your pick up during the Heaping or Humble Food Drive by calling 604-973-0183 or emailing info@mattressrecycling.ca to book your donation.
