All I have to do is say "The 2010 Federal Budget" and people's eyes glaze over.  They look at me like I'm Buzz Killington.  But for those of you who are still with me, here is a summary of  National Chief Shawn A-in-chut Atleo's comments on the Assembly of First Nations website www.afn.ca and his web address on the YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/user/afnposter, regarding last month's release of the Federal Budget. All Are Friends and Welcome Here

As is the customs of all First Nations people, “I bid you all welcome” to the first posting of the First Nations blog entitled Welcome. Firstly, I wish to thank founding editor-in-chief Linda Solomon and The Vancouver Observer for this opportunity to contribute my time and skills to open a dialogue with any and all who have an open heart and an open mind

I believe passionately in all issues that effect my people as First Nations and Canadians and I want to do my part in helping whomever wishes to learn and understand the issues facing Indigenous People, that we may learn from and about other. All nations have different customs and I hope this Blog will open a dialogue between not only ourselves, but with non-aboriginals to discover the similarities amid our differences.
