In the snowy mountains of Jackson, Wyoming, Justin Timberlake proposed to his on-again, off-again girlfriend of four and a half years, Jessica Biel.

A few insiders told Us Weekly that the couple became engaged in late December. "Justin knows how much she loves snowboarding and the mountains, so it was the perfect place," one explained.

The two parted ways for three months in 2011, but "when they reunited, they had a conversation about taking the next step," one insider said.

Another source close to the lovestoned singer said that Timberlake's "never been happier" and that "he knew it was the right time to propose."

Rick Santorum's nephew backs Ron Paul

Rick Santorum gets no love from his nephew, who is a strong supporter of Ron Paul.

It was a dead heat between Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney at the Iowa Caucus tonight.

Romney won out in the end, but analysts said that Santorum appeared to have the edge over the "Massechusetts Moderate" (Newt Gringich's nickname for Romney during the debate).

While Santorum wooed many voters in Iowa, his 19-year-old nephew John Garver surprised people by vocally criticizing his uncle's "big government" policies, urging voters to support Ron Paul instead.

Here's an exerpt from Garver's piece in The Daily Caller:

My uncle’s interventionist policies, both domestic and foreign, stem from his irrational fear of freedom not working.

A look (and a hair flip) back at Justin Bieber's top moments in 2011

Whatever they're putting in Justin Bieber's Kool-Aid, it's working because I'm a fan, okay? Not the scream-out-loud-tears-on-my-face-OMGesus- it's-him-I-can't-breathe kind, but I respect the kid.

So, it only makes sense that for my end-of-the-year story, I focus on the one star on whom I've been focusing on all along: Justin Drew Bieber.

For Biebs, 2011 was a year of hair changes, new friends, "Bieber swag," philanthropy, perfume, freestyle rap, maturity and scandals.

Here's a look (and a hair flip) back at some of Bieber's top moments of 2011, and a few reasons why I heart the Canadian teen pop sensation a little more this year.

No iPhone, no thanks: ungrateful Christmas gift recipients

Jenny Uechi
Dec 28th, 2011

The coveted iPhone.

Apparently, not getting an iPhone or iPad for Christmas is one of the biggest tragedies making the rounds on social media this year. Have some people never heard of the financial crisis? Or of Occupy?

Here are just a few mind-boggling tweets:

Incredibly, some of these kids (most appear to be under 25) got luxurious gifts like diamond earrings, but were unimpressed to be the only person in the world without the latest Apple product, in the exact colour they wanted. In addition to Apple products, quite a few gift recipients were angry they didn't get the new car they asked for this Christmas.

American Idol star Adam Lambert was arrested in Finland early Thursday morning, after a drunken brawl with boyfriend Sauli Koskinen. They were both nabbed in Helsinki outside of a nightclub "Don't Tell Mama" around 4:00 a.m, but were held in different jails, according to Perez Hilton.

Lambert was taken to Pasila police station and Koskinen to Töölö.

People are more likely to lie when texting than when engaging in other forms of communication, say UBC Sauder School of Business researchers.

"Our results confirm that the more anonymous the technology (the more it) allows a person to be in a communications exchange, and the more likely they are to become morally lax,” Karl Aquino, Sauder professor and one of the co-authors of the study said.

Kardashians unveil creepy Christmas cards

Stone-faced  Kardashians unveiled their cheerless Christmas cards today.

The expressionless family posed for family photographer Nick Saglimbeni, who shot them in both 2-D and 3-D. Maybe next year's cards will talk, fly and express emotion.

In one portrait, Kris Jenner's hands are perched on her husband Bruce Jenner's sturdy shoulder. In another, Kim Kardashian is looking away from the camera, intense, with hands on hips and a "watch-out-who-you-mess-with" expression. Could she be thinking of her ex-husband of 72 days, Kris Humphries, who's clearly absent?

And what better place for an icy and winterized shoot then stone stairs?

Justin Bieber's "Someday" perfume ad brings girl fans dreams to life

Justin Bieber's marketing team is relentless.

Whatever the Biebs is paying them, it's not enough. Somewhere behind the teenage pop star is a team of highly specialized squad who has the female (or male) psyche mapped out to the tiniest detail. And they're just killing it, by the looks of it.

Through an interactive ad for his perfume "Someday", Bieber (rather, his advertisers) makes fans go dizzy by letting them believe the world's greatest idol has somehow decided to go chase after an anonymous Belieber -- not the other way around.

High-waisted pants have Sarah Silverman trending on Twitter

Unlike high-waisted pants, in her opinion, Sarah Silverman is looking good on Twitter tonight. She's currently trending in Vancouver. And those high pants may have something to do with it.

"If u think high waisted pants look good ur high and wasted," quick-witted Silverman tweeted mere hours ago.

Now, everyone seems to be RTing and HAHAing all over the micro-blogging site.

"Outfit of the day ruined," one cried out. "At least I'm wasted."

Others signed-off their tweets with #amen and #loveyousarah," saying things like "low waist don't show ma bulge" and "does this apply to shorts too?"

Sad news for a girl who just recently hard-core wore-out a pair.

Excuse me while I go put on my high-waisted pyjama bottoms to sleep.

Anyone seen the pink Kleenex tissue box?

Men in black are back

Anja Konjicanin
Dec 12th, 2011

It's badass. It's back. It's Men in Black.

Their mission is to monitor extraterrestrial activity on earth. That's right: aliens.

Will Smith
(Agent J) and Tommy Lee Jones (Agent K) are back to kick some alien booty. Except that Agent K is dead?

Even though it's been 15 years since Men in Black movie debuted, it's as if time had stood still. With the agents' sunglasses and "neuralyzer" ready-to-go, the scum-blasting pair don't seem to have changed a bit.

With Agent K gone, Agent J is left to find the answers. And that includes time-jumping off a skyscraper.

"There are things out there you don't need to know," Agent K tells Agent J in the teaser, when Agent J finds his access to a report is denied.

As soon as Sony released the trailer today, the 1:58-minute clip became a trending topic on Twitter, under the hashtags #ManInBlack3 and #MIB3.
