Tim Hortons will be bringing Wi-Fi to 2,000 locations, which means fans of timbits and under $2 coffee have a new reason to live at their favorite donut shop. Will this put pressure on JJ Bean and Caffe Artigiano to get on the  wireless internet bandwagon? One thing's for sure: this means more options for people flocking to Starbucks and Waves more for reliable internet access than a deep love for gourmet coffee.

But this brings up the question of table-squatting: will Tim Hortons be setting itself for a situation of people taking up four hours on their laptop for the price of a coffee (or worse, a timbit)? Starbucks got itself into a hairy situation last year with a customer/blogger after a manager asked him to leave if he's not buying another beverage. Some felt the blogger was wrong to hog table space for so long, while others criticized Starbucks for its treatment of a paying customer.

It remains to be seen how Tim Hortons will be able to avoid this scenario.
