Fatal motorcycle collision on SW Marine Drive

Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle collision that happened on SW Marine Drive at Argyle Street last night.

Around 10:00 p.m., a motorcycle travelling east on SW Marine Drive collided with a car that was turning left from Argyle Street to go west on SW Marine.

The 19 year-old Vancouver man who was riding the motorcycle was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. That man died in hospital early this morning.

The operator’s family has been notified, his name is not being released.

The driver of the car remained at the scene and is cooperating with the police investigation.

It is early in the investigation, but speed and alcohol are not being considered factors in the crash at this time.

This is Vancouver’s 13th traffic related fatality in 2013.
