From the Shark Penthouse to Truffes au chocolat, here's what's on (and upcoming) at the Vancouver Aquarium:

Whales Of The North (On now)

See "Whales of the North," Vancouver Aquarium’s new beluga show, in celebration of the feature film “Big Miracle.” Learn about the amazing lives of majestic beluga whales, as well as the Arctic’s changing ecosystem and how it affects grey whales, killer whales and other wildlife in our new live presentation. We still know very little about belugas. Their icy habitat makes them difficult to study in the wild, and even the belugas that live in the St. Lawrence River, the southernmost population, are elusive. We’ve learned valuable information from the belugas at the Aquarium and we’re still making new discoveries—ones that will hopefully help the belugas in the wild. On until February 29, 2012.

Hugs and Fishes Sleepover (Upcoming)

On Saturday, February 11, why not do something different with your special Valentine? Enjoy the Vancouver Aquarium in a unique way during "Hugs and Fishes Sleepover!"  Experience our 4-D Theatre and be prepared for a ride filled with thrilling sensory effects such as wind, mist, scents and dramatic lighting. Show your cooking skills with “Truffes au chocolat,” a light and fun cooking workshop with our very own Chef de Partie, Chef Cookie-Star. Have fun playing with the Aquarium’s unique version of “Do You Know Your Partner?,”and meet and travel with our very own Aquarium sex therapist Dr. O. Love. His team will take you on a very special expedition tour you will never forget: the "Sea-fari of Passion" featuring aquatic courtships.

After Hours (Upcoming)

Fish are calming. Slightly more so without 500 kids underfoot. On March 1, experience the peace and tranquility of our galleries during "After Hours," an adults-only evening. The event includes special programming and behind-the-scenes tours. Visit the "Shark Penthouse" normally closed to visitors, learn more on a guided tour through the new "Our World" gallery and enjoy hands-on learning at the "Wet Lab." Food, wine and beer will also be available. Thursday, March 1, 2012, from 6 to 10 p.m.

Calling All Divers - Annual Lingcod Egg Mass Survey (On now)

Divers are invited to take part in the Annual Lingcod Egg Mass Survey and help gather important information about a valuable local resource. Divers participating in this annual survey collect information on the number, size, condition, and position of egg masses, as well as whether or not a guarding male is present. Data such as these help us determine the health of local lingcod populations.
